It’s our boxing film article turn today but I’m gonna disappoint you today because today’s film is not about boxing at all. However, it’s about fighting. Something that we all need to do to survive. So did Danny Trejo. This is a documentary film by the way. A story of fight and triumph, this is the story of actor Danny Trejo.

From despair to “Desperate Housewives” Danny Trejo’s life is an awe inspiring testament to the strength of the human spirit and all of it is captured in Champion.

This baddest guy used to be now becomes a role model to many people. You can find the DVD and watch his life and learn now. It really just is a truly great story to see. If you have no clue where to find it, just go to www.championmovie.com.

Now take a look at the trailer from YouTube:

Henry Melody Jackson Jr. or Henry Armstrong, the owner of the nicknames “Homicide Hank” and “Hurricane Henry”, was a world boxing champion. He was the only boxer who held three world championships at the same time (World Featherweight, World Lightweight and World Welterweight Champion) he won boxing championships in three or more different divisions (back then there were these many weight divisions like the present day.)

Six years ago in 2002, Ring Magazine ranked Armstrong as the 2nd greatest fighter of the last 80 years. The first was Sugar Ray Robinson and the third was the great Muhammad Ali.

Armstrong developed his boxing skills since he was little and started as a pro when he was 19. He didn’t start out just like many great boxers. Years by years he got improved. A former world champion like Juan Zurita and former champ Mike Belloside also lost to Armstrong not many years after he started the career.

In 1937 he did almost 30 KO winnings and became world Featherweight Champion by defeating Petey Sarron and made about 30 more KOs in 1938. He, 126, won over Barney Ross, 147 by unanimous decision, adding the world Welterweight Championship to his Featherweight belt. After that he decided he couldn’t make the Featherweight division anymore and left the crown vacant and started the welterweight a couple years later.
In 1945 he decided to end the boxing career. His registered record was 150 wins, 21 losses and 9 draws with 100 KO wins. However, his exact record isn’t really known because it is believed he fought some pay fights under the nickname of Melody Jackson.

He got to become a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

You can check out his official website for a full biography and photos or Henry Armstrong at www.henryarmstrong.net , a dedicated site to him by his family.

So how was it the summer Olympics in Beijing? The Chinese did a really great job hosting the event and we are looking forward to the next Olympics 4 years later in London.
And don’t forget that the next Olympics in 2012 in London is the first time for FEMALE BOXING to enter the Olympic Games. It’s going to be really great!

Are you excited for the Olympics which is starting soon within a week? I am. So I decide to talk today about one great boxer who won THREE gold medals in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki and in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia which might be his finest fight when he beat Jose Torres from USA. He is the first successful boxer who won 3 gold medals in Olympics Games.

Laszlo Papp was born in 1926 in Budapest, Hungary. The guy won 3 medals from the Olympics, first in a middleweight event and the other two is in light middleweight events.

Picture from Britannica

As an amateur, he scored 55 first round knockouts. Until his death, he owned the record of 27(15 KO)-2-0. The guy had never lost the fight in the ring.

He died in his hometown in 2003. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame two years before his death. However, in 1989 he received an award for “Best amateur and professional boxer of all time” from WBC President at that time Jose Sulaiman. He was also granted honorary champion status of WBC.

Who is going to be next to enter the Hall of Fame? Don’t miss all the boxing events at this Olympics. The first round starts on August 9 at 13:30 in Workers Indoor Stadium, Beijing.

Only a few day from now until the big match between Margarito and Cotto. I’m sure you’re looking for this great 12 round WBA welterweight title bout. So today I’m here to talk a little bit about one of these two: Antonio Margarito.

28-year-old Margarito is originally from Tijuana, Mexico. This famous fighter is now the former IBF and WBO Welterweight champion. And as you know, he is ready to give himself another title this Saturday.

One of his best wins is when he knocked out Puerto Rican Kermit Cintron, one of the unbeatable world class boxers 3 years ago and retained his WBO world Welterweight title.

His boxing record of 42 total fights is 36 wins with 26 KOs, 5 losses and 1 no contest.

Following his successful rematch with Cintron (he KO Cintron in the sixth round on April 12), the IBF ordered him to fight a mandatory defense against the organization’s number-one contender, Joshua Clottey, who Margarito had previously defeated a couple years ago. Rather than agreeing to a rematch with Clottey, Margarito vacated the IBF title and agreed to fight with WBA titlist Miguel Cotto from Puerto Rico in the next three days.

If you’re his fan, don’t miss this match. It will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 26. You can watch it from pay-per-view broadcasted by HBO at 9 pm ET/ 6pm PT (suggested retail price of $49.95).

It’s time for another great boxing movie that we say that you don’t want to miss. Today’s film is a true story of the Magic Man. This is a documentary film that won the prestigious “Best of the Festival Audience Award” from the Hoboken International Film Festival.

It is the true story of the Magic Man or Paul “Paulie” Malignaggi, a professional boxer from Brooklyn, New York. Young Paulie from a broken home wants to prove his life worth something. He defeats all odds to arrive at the Mecca of boxing. He has proved that everyone else is wrong and has won the WBO Junior Welterweight Title.

Picture from Saddoboxing.com

In the film, Malignaggi is like a gym rat. He works hard and come from the bottom up and never back down. You can also see that he cannot be rattled by his opponents.

I believe this movie is such an inspiration. It’s full of disappointment, failure, and triumph. The film does cheer people up to fight more for their better lives and worth living. He is also a gifted fighter who many boxers look at as their role model.

I really recommend you to see this film when you get a chance. I am sure that you will agree that this is one best boxing film ever made.

Don’t forget to come back to our website and blog to check out some more interesting films that involve all types of boxing. You can also tell us about your favorite boxing movie so we can share with the others. See you next time.

Where do you mostly go to watch awesome Muay Thai clips? Let me guess, YouTube.com. If you’re really familiar with YouTube, you might have already seen this clip I’m presenting today. I chose this vdo because it is a great collection of Muay Thai moves that were used for real in the ring. You gotta understand that there are some forbidden that are too hard or too dangerous.

So our MuayThaiSport.com/blog will today introduce you to a great video called “the world of Muay Thai”. Let’s take a look.

The World of Muay Thai clip from YouTube.com

Amazing kicks, weren’t they? Those techniques are really really tough. And don’t try it at home, or with the one you love. I gotta warn you.

However, the person who can box good, don’t need to know just the techniques but also how to use them properly and wisely. Many great MuayThai fighters are really smart (when fighting at least). I wanna give you an example. Namkabuan “The Ring Genius” Nongeepayahut is an idol. Lots of new thaiboxing students want to fight as smart as he does. He didn’t get that nickname without a proper reason you know. Let’s take a look at how he fights. And by the way thanks to whoever made this vid, good music.

Namkabuan “The Ring Genius” Nongeepayahut High Light from YouTube.com

He is an awesome fighter. It would be cool to meet him in personal with respect. At 6:32 was pretty tough, wasn’t it haha. Anyway, in many people opinions, Namkabuan is one hell of a smart boxer, smarter than some of the other traditional Thai legends you might have known.

Alright… I hope you enjoyed the two videos. You can visit us next time for more cool clips. In case you want to tell us which one you like, please do, so I can post it here to share with others. Thank you for sticking with us today.
