Tony Jaa is back! If you haven’t seen any of his martial arts performance in movies, this is the time to look for them. This man is the best actor and choreographer ever. I’ve wrote some articles about him and his previous movies. Ong Bak and the first of his directed movie and now in theater in Thailand the Ong Bak 3 the last of the trilogy.

If you ask me, I hate the story. It’s really hard to understand what he’s trying to say in each story and they don’t seem to relate to each other. The last story contains too much superstition which I don’t really impress. However, his choreographing skills got better and better. He always does his own stunt and that makes him a very successful in the career. Not many actors in the world and do what he can. Fighting on a real elephant, for instance. The elephant scene is one of the biggest scene that I recommend you to see.

About Ong Bak3

Genre: Action
Written and Directed by: Tony Jaa, Panna Rittikrai
Starring: Tony Jaa, Dan Chupong, Kessarin Ektawatkul

The Plot:

At the end of Ong Bak 2, Tien (Tony Jaa) was beginning to lose. He lost his fighting skills and his beloved step father who turned out to be the one who killed his real parents under the order of Jom Rachan. In this movie, Tien is brought back to life again with the help from his love ones, Pim, Mhen and Kana Khone villagers. After he returns to life, he is taught and trained meditating by Phra Bua until he can achieve “Nathayut”. His skills are put to test once again when the enemies returns for the biggest final confrontation.

It’s our boxing film article turn today but I’m gonna disappoint you today because today’s film is not about boxing at all.

Synopsis from MuayThaiChaiyathemovie.com: In mid-1970s, three boys from a southern village become friends while spending time in a boxing camp. Piak is a boxer whose young soul bubles with fighting spirit. Pao is a son of a Chaiya boxing legend. They both hang out with another local boy called Samor. Amid the backdrop of the peaceful South, the three boys spend time training with the hope of fulfilling their dream of becoming professional boxers.

Pao has an old manuscript of MuayThai Chaiya left by his father, and the three friends are hugely inspired by the elegant moves and forceful blows depicted in it. But their paths are strewn with obstacles, and their friendship faces an ultimately test when Piak and Pao fall in love with the same woman, a pretty nurse called Sriprai.

One day, Pao’s father returns. His name is Tew Chaiya, and he has disappointed after a match-fixing scandal that involved a boxing champion Krangsuk. Upon his return, Tew Chaiya begins to pass on the venerated principle of Muay Thai Chaiya to his son, as well as to Piak and Samor, making them the last practitioners of the ancient and mysterious art.

Soon the three boys are ready to conquer Bangkok boxing rings. In the capital, the debuting prizefighters are forced to learn the hard lessons in the dog-eat-dog world of professional boxing career, meanwhile Piak falls for a lovelorn go-go girl named Warn. The battle of the three friends is as brutal and breathtaking in as it is out of the ring.

Let’s take a look at the trailer from YouTube before you decide!

This is the movie in which you can see a lot of Muay Thai Chaiya moves. This ancient Muay Thai arts should never die.

Ahmad Al-Sulaiti is an Engineer from Qatar who was driven out of his dead end job where he was mistreated for several years. Ahmad takes off to Thailand to fulfill his only real dream of becoming a professional fighter. When he arrives in Bangkok he quickly runs into a series of unfortunate events which leave him broke and helpless. Luckily he is taken in by a traditional Muay Thai camp owned by Apidej and his grand daughter Katoon (Julaluck Ismalone) and he is given a chance to make a living out of fighting professionally.

Ahmad adds to his bad luck streak by accepting to fight illegally when given a chance by a young suspicious promoter called Nikki who matches him with K-1 champion Kaoklai Kanorasing!!
At a late age Ahmad has to learn how the rules of judging in Muay Thai don’t favor a foreigner like him so he must put the extra effort to finish each fight against the toughest fighters out there!

Coming from a different culture and background, the events that take place help Ahmad realize a lesson in life, which was that victory doesn’t only come by winning a fight, but by winning the people who were always there for you.
Story from www.aukmenthemovie.com

Directed by David Ismalone
Casts: Somrak Kamsing, Kaoklai Kaennorsing, Ahmad Al-Sulaiti, Julaluck Ismalone and Nicky Pinmp

This is a pretty kick ass movie from the trailer. Take a look!

Welcome to our website and yes this is just about time to introduce you to another boxing movie, actually a movie that involves boxing in it. So if you are a boxing fan and don’t have anything to do, maybe there’s no interesting upcoming fight or you just want to find for something new to enjoy, why don’t you try checking out this movie?

The movie’s called Million Dollar Baby, directed by Clint Eastwood. This might not be a perfect movie but the positives still outweigh the negatives. What I like the most is the back half of the movie that is quite powerful to watch. And besides I love the three main stars of the movie.

The three mains stars of the movies are Clint Eastwood, Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman. If you are their fans, I hope you don’t wanna miss this film too because they did one hell of a job here, or else the film wouldn’t have won 4 Oscars.

Synopsis from milliondollarbabymovie.warnerbros.com:
Frankie Dunn (CLINT EASTWOOD) has trained and managed some incredible fighters during a lifetime spent in the ring. The most important lesson he teaches his boxers is the one that rules his life: above all, always protect yourself. In the wake of a painful estrangement from his daughter, Frankie has been unwilling to let himself get close to anyone for a very long time. His only friend is Scrap (MORGAN FREEMAN), an ex-boxer who looks after Frankie’s gym and knows that beneath his gruff exterior is a man who has attended Mass almost every day for the past 23 years, seeking the forgiveness that somehow continues to elude him.

This is another boxing film by Sylvester Stallone. This is just brilliant! Stallone wrote the screenplay on his own and played the main character very terrifically. The movie was quite a success I think.

The story is about a no-name boxer named Rocky Balboa (Stallone) who fights for small amount of money in gyms. He lives in an apartment in Philadelphia and earns a living by collecting debts. One day he met a girl and they became lovers. The girl’s brother took Rocky to work with him in a meat packing company. Current world Heavyweight boxing champion Apollo Creed visited Philadelphia one day and came up with an idea of giving an unknown a shot at the title and he chose Rocky. This is a big chance for Rocky so he trains and gets ready for the match. He needs to win this even though it’s obvious that Creed is set to win.

The film was directed by John G. Avildsen and stared Sylvester Stallone, Talia Shire, Burt Young and Carl Weathers…

This is not just a boxing movie but a story of a boxer. It is one of those movies that inspire people to fight to survive when they don’t get a chance that often. Sometimes there might be only one shot in a life-time.

This movie is worth your one shot of seeing it!

Wow it’s been a really long time since I last wrote about boxing film. You know most of the boxing films are quite tense and drama. Mostly there are quite sad because all the boxers’ lives aren’t that smooth. They had to get through some really tough time. But the movie I’m going to encourage you to watch is totally different. This boxer will make you laugh.

Here Comes Mr. Jordan is a hilarious comedy film. The story was adapted by Sidney Buchman and Seton I. Miller from the play “Heaven Can Wait” by Harry Segall. The film was directed by Alexander Hall and stars Robert Montgomery, Evelyn Keyes and Claude Rains. Basically the movie is about a boxer who’s accidentally brought to heaven before his time, so he gets another chance to go back on Earth.

You know what, you are going to love this movie. It’s an old classic boxing film might be hard to find but it now can be purchased in DVD and maybe you can rent it at Blockbuster. The movie got the quality! You might think that the original play “Heaven Can Wait” is better. You gotta admit most people tend to think that the original is always better. But after you watch this one, that will go beyond you. I really think they both are great.

As you know that until the Olympics this year, female boxing is still excluded from the boxing events. The good news is in 1994 female boxing was received real attention and in the next Olympics in 2012, for the first time women boxers are allowed to enter and compete in the Olympic Games.

The film tells the story of women’s role in the Golden Gloves boxing competition.

Women have been trying to get into the competition for years. In this documentary you will see all the female boxers have gone through.
The actual first 2 minutes of the film from YouTube

This is going to be one great boxing film. It is coming on DVD soon. You can keep tracking on www.goldenglovesmovie.com

The film makers decided to follow 8 great women in the 2005 tournament who all think they can be CHAMP from the quarter finals till the prestigious Finals.

At the end of the competition, the winner, an outspoken Puerto Rican young woman cannot go to compete on the National level, because she doesn’t have to money. That is because USA Boxing will pays all the expenses for travel, hotel, food, etc for state champions but only for MEN. And women boxers like this Puerto Rican you will see in the film have to pay for all those expenses for themselves.

Thank to Leyla Leidecker, the director of this documentary. Women’s boxing is now recognized. The sport is now offering women boxers the same opportunities as men boxers. Too bad in 2005, the International Olympic Comity voted “No” to the inclusion of women’s boxing in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

The film spreads out the political message, calling for equal rights for women who think they can box.

Leidecker wanted to show the audience these 8 incredible women who not only are successful in their out of the ring careers, but also have great sportsmanship and friendship to each other. Good Job!

The latest news of Ong Bak 2, another great action movie from Thailand that has Ja Panom or Tony Jaa staring and this time also directing it. The news is that…well I don’t wanna say this…but Ong Bak 2 might have to be postponed.

Tony Jaa, after running away from the production and no one knew where he was, just came back and explained the reason he had to run away from the set. I understand that he need time to meditate in the woods due to the problem he’s got from making the movie.

He takes this movie very seriously because it is his first movie of making. That’s why he had a tendency to go off for days or months. And now the producer has run out of money I guess and Jaa has to fund the rest by himself.

I hope this film come within this year like it said. According to the plan it should be released on December 5 in Thailand. But that is when the problem between Jaa and his parent company (Sahamongkol Film) is solved. I hope the miscommunication about the financial situation between his company and Sahamongkol will end very soon. Or we might not get to see the 100 percent completed film.

Let’s take a quick watch at Ong Bak 2 trailer one more time.

I really am looking forward to seeing this movie. And I’m sure there are thousands of Tony Jaa’s fans out there. We fans should give him when possible the support. Yesterday he was just an action star, the day before he was only a poor guy from the North East, and today he’s trying to make his dream become true being a director. This guy can do a lot more.

Come back to our blog next time for a lot more of great boxing film. See you then!
