Welcome to our blog! We are back again right here to talk about Muay Thai stuff. That’s right. Today’s article is going to be about Punching Bags. What are they for? And how to pick one? Perhaps you might want to get one at your house, since it will be handy for you to train Muay Thai at home.

In Muay thai or in any types of Martial Arts, Punching bags are great for building up strength of your fists punch or kicks. Besides, some people use punching bags for their stress relief. So heck even though you don’t box, there’s still a pretty good reason to have one around. Anyway let’s go back to boxing. Boxers from beginners to professionals use them a lot because practice with bags are great for creating muscles, stamina and improve boxing techniques. Now let’s choose a good quality and a right type of punching bags for you.

The First type of boxing bags is called the body-shaped bags. This human figured bag is used by professional boxers only and quite hard to find. It is a type of Pedestal bags.

The most common punch bags are heavy bags. They are cylindrical and hung from the ceiling with chains. The bags are strong and can handle hard and powerful workout or practice of your punches and kicks. Choose real leather bags filled with grains for long time use.

Pedestal Bags is like heavy bags. But instead of hanging from the ceiling, pedestal bags stand on the floor. However, if compare to the hanging heavy bag, I would go for the heavy bag because I can practice more Muay Thai moves with its swaying motions.

Last but not least, speed bags. This one is much smaller and easier to buy. Air filled speed bag are great for learning how to keep the hands up at post, improving the speed and perfecting the body coordination.

Train with the right bags that fit for your training purposes. Another thing to concern is the weight of the bag, heavier is more stable and on the other hand the lighter the harder to control.

Cautions: Never go with bare hands and use boxing gloves that are made for bag training. Enjoy!

Welcome! Are you ready for the next gym review? Today review includes Champions Boxing Gym in both at Vegas, Nevada, and Birmingham, Alabama. The gym is lead by Curt McCune who has more than 24 years as a competitor, trainer and coach. Curt is a certified Level II Coach with USA Boxing. So of course the gym is an officially chartered and registered boxing gym with USA Boxing.

Stated in the gym website “Curt can teach you the boxing skills that you need to win in the ring. Curt’s first hand knowledge of the sport was gained by competing and training in the sport for over 24 years. He learned his skills from several very knowledgeable boxing coaches and trainers over the years, especially in Las Vegas. The basics are stressed from the beginning. You will start off learning the correct stance, hand placement, footwork, the basic punches and how to punch correctly. You will build your boxing knowledge from the ground up so you will have a solid foundation to build on. You will also start getting your body in “boxing condition”, so you can concentrate on learning boxing not wondering if you can take another breath or not.”, you just have to prove that yourself at his gym.

But to tell you the truth, there are only a few differences between gyms, what you might want to concern is your comfort of going there and the environment of the gym you like and many the hardness of the training, anything that will keep you going there for the most effective workout.

There are three types of programs offered which are “Competition Boxing”, “Fitness Boxing” and “Private Boxing Training”. In case you are interested, check out the schedule and prices now at the website www.championsboxinggym.com

Here comes the article for those of you who want to get in shape. It is another good gym to be introduced to you later on here for you to consider whether you might want to join or not. It’s just a brief review and another choice for you. That’s it. If you think this gym suits you to most, don’t forget to join there and make yourself look great and hot.

Third Street Gym was opened 5 years ago by two guys from Ireland who won Golden Glove titles in San Francisco back in 1999 and 2001. Nowadays, the gym is home to many aspiring amateurs and local pros. The atmosphere and class system are great for teaching boxing. All types of people have come here to experience the class here. So why don’t you want to try?

What I have read from many comments about this gym is that I found lots of people really like this gym, especially the trainers and gym members. This is a well run gym with modern and useful training methods. Classes there include warm ups, drills, cardiovascular, flexibility and strength exercises. Women are welcomed. However, the gym could be too rough for someone.

You can check out the gym for yourself at
Third Street Boxing Gym
2576 3rd Street (between 22nd St. and 23rd St.)
San Francisco, CA 94107
415 550 UBOX

Training Hours
Monday-Friday 1:30pm-8:30pm
Saturday 10:00am-1:00pm

Personal Class Hours
Monday-Friday 4:00pm-8:00pm

Kids Boxing is on Tuesday and Thursday at 4-6pm.

Don’t worry if you’re a newbie. They will teach you right from the very beginning like the boxing stance, how to wrap your hands, basic moves, footwork…etc.

What you can expect from going here? Well first of all is weight loss because the training can be pretty tough sometimes and you need to work out a lot, boxing skills, strength and fitness, flexibility and coordination of your body parts.

Go now to www.thirdstreetgym.com for more information!

Welcome to our blog site! I was researching on some great fighters out there. And that is when I realize that there are a lot of boxer ranking websites and I don’t know which one I can really trust. And I found this website called IBF-USBA Boxing – Rankings.

It is the official site of the International Boxing Federation. The IBF is a voluntary association managed and organized by representatives of various athletic commissions for the idea of earning more efficiency and standardization in the administration of professional boxing.

The IBF-USBA promulgates rules, establishes champions and prepares monthly ranking of contenders which are constantly updated online.

So in this website, you can go and download the rules, such as, contests rules, bout rules and championship rules. You can also check the latest ranking from IBF (International Boxing Federation) and from USBA ratings (United States Boxing Association).

If you want to become a membership of this association, you can visit the website at www.ibf-usba-boxing.com and download the application form.

I find this site really useful. It’s very educational if you want to become a professional in Boxing, you will need to know this stuff. They are good stuff and you won’t regret to know.

Come back for another great boxing website from all over the world right here in our website. If you have any suggestion to help us improve our blog and article, please let us know. See you next time!
