Welcome to our blog and yes we are presenting you today our next Muay Thai Learning Clip. We are continuing with how to use the most important weapons in boxing, the fists. That’s right we’re now moving on to the punch and if you missed this, last time we taught how about the most basic punch, the straight punch, don’t forget to check it out because if I were you I wouldn’t miss one bit of this totally free useful stuff.
And as you know the lesson today is the Hook. In Thai we call in Mud Wiang San. The best and most effective time to use this move is when your opponent is close enough to you.
Let’s take a look at our clip first!
Quite the same with the straight punch but you have to bend the elbow about 90 degree angle aiming to the targets which are either face, chin, ear, jaw or temple, using the back of your knuckle to hit the target for great impact.
Just like straight punch, there are two type of the hook. One is the rear hook and the other is the lead hook. Now see what type we put in our clip?
Note that the power will come from the movement of your foot, hip and shoulder to the punch. And always keep the palm downwards, or you would end up wasting energy without good enough effect or break your finger bones.
