Are you excited for the Olympics which is starting soon within a week? I am. So I decide to talk today about one great boxer who won THREE gold medals in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki and in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia which might be his finest fight when he beat Jose Torres from USA. He is the first successful boxer who won 3 gold medals in Olympics Games.

Laszlo Papp was born in 1926 in Budapest, Hungary. The guy won 3 medals from the Olympics, first in a middleweight event and the other two is in light middleweight events.

As an amateur, he scored 55 first round knockouts. Until his death, he owned the record of 27(15 KO)-2-0. The guy had never lost the fight in the ring.

He died in his hometown in 2003. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame two years before his death. However, in 1989 he received an award for “Best amateur and professional boxer of all time” from WBC President at that time Jose Sulaiman. He was also granted honorary champion status of WBC.
