Thai Talk: 1 Hi there.

Welcome everyone to our blog site at MuayThaiSport.com/blog. We are a little new for making blogs, but will work hard to provide you some info about Thai Boxing, news, and lots more. We also want to introduce you our country and culture.

Thai Talk is an article that will teach you Thai, basically how to speak Thai.

Don’t worry we do not want to get into too much detail. We want to teach you how to say a few phrases. It might become handy when you meet Thai people or when you visit Thailand.

Ok no more talking, let’s get started!
There are a few different ways to say hi to Thai people. Of course you can just simply say Hi or Hello. But there is something else.

- Hi or Hello! I know many of you might have heard this. In Thai, Hello or Hi is “Sawaddee”. If you are a man, say Sawaddee Krap. If you are a woman, say Sawaddee Ka.
- The next one might sound weird for you. Another way to greet Thai People is asking “Where are you going?” or “Where have you been to?” Please do not ask why. By saying that might show the care of the speaker, I guess. Anyway, how to say “Where are you going?” is “Ja-Pai-Nai-Ka”(for women) or “Ja-Pai-Nai-Krap”(for men). And “Where have you been to?” is “Pai-Nai-Ma-Ka”(for women) or “Pai-Nai-Ma-Krap”(for men).

I think that’s quite enough for today. You can use them with your Thai Boxing Trainer. Surprise him!

Quick notes: You see we use ending differently. Ka for women and Krap for men. The endings show the respect you have to the person you speak to. But if you count him as a friend, no need to use the ending.
See you next week with our Thai learning section here at MuayThaiSport.com/blog. Have fun!
